My practice is patient-focused and places a strong emphasis on preventative care. I am an avid proponent of patient involvement and education. I strive to empower my patients by providing them with the most up-to-date and accurate information.
I believe that it’s important for patients to be active participants in their experience because it helps them become more aware and invested in their dental health. When I was young, I had the good fortune of having a Dentist who was genuinely interested in my wellbeing so I know just how transformative this kind of patient experience can be.
Dentistry is my passion. It has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have fond childhood memories of visiting my dentist and picking out the flavors of tooth polishing paste and fluoride foam. When I was 16 years old, my dentist took a panoramic x-ray to evaluate my wisdom teeth. They saw me examining the screen and started explaining different parts of the x-ray. I realized that I, too, wanted to become a Dentist and educate people about their health.
I completed my undergraduate studies in Biology and Nutrition at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, which is where I grew up. In 2012, I moved to Houston to attend the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry. I graduated dental school in 2016 and have been practicing Dentistry ever since. Today, I am involved in several dental health organizations, including the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and Brazos Valley District Dental Society.
For me, community, family, and Dentistry all go together and are deeply intertwined. I regard my dental patients as part of my extended family and am enthusiastic about getting to know each of them. I enjoy talking to my patients not only about their health, but also about their families and what’s happening in their lives.
One of my favorite parts about being a Dentist is getting to see families grow – from small little ones to adults and parents who become grandparents. I cherish every moment, from talking to new parents about baby’s first tooth to helping seniors experience better dental comfort and health.
