We believe in developing enjoyable relationships with our patients based on sharing information honestly on all oral conditions and development of treatment that is in your best interest. I believe you should be completely informed of the advantages and disadvantages of treatment alternatives so that you may make a choice that suits you. We strongly believe in developing an achievable plan of prevention and correction prior to starting treatment. We believe that you will like our approach. It is simple, honest, and direct; it is less costly in the long run because with good planning, we know where we are going before we begin. My practice exists to serve my patients. Your First Visit
We hope you will find each and every visit pleasantly different from most dental visits. Our goal is to be your dedicated dental team and provide patient-focused care for your whole family. Dr. Zelina Pickett, DDS strives to create an atmosphere of trust and calmness in her practice. Each patient will meet one on one with Dr. Pickett to discuss their individual dental history, present concerns, and future oral health objectives. All of the information gathered during your visit and examination with Dr. Pickett will be utilized to educate you on your own oral health status and assist you in making the best decision for your overall oral and systemic health. Your objectives and personal goals will assist Dr. Pickett in creating a unique oral health plan just for you.

New Patient Exam
Your comprehensive dental exam where your “teeth are checked” actually is much, much more. It is a process, which together you and Dr. Pickett discover what the current state of health is in your mouth. Dr. Pickett will perform a risk assessment of your gum health, check teeth and fillings for disease and weakness, look for worn teeth, evaluate muscle and jaw joint function, and complete a thorough soft tissue and oral cancer exam. She will gather the necessary radiographs (x-rays), photographs, diagnostic models, and jaw records. These comprehensive records combined with your overall concerns and goals will help Dr. Pickett provide choices and treatment options for the level of treatment you are interested in.

Appointments
We take great care in scheduling appointments at our office in The Woodlands so Dr. Pickett can spend ample time with each and every patient. Dr. Pickett believes she can only care for one patient at a time therefore, we do not schedule multiple patients at a time. This allows Dr. Pickett to give you 100% of her undivided attention to you when you have an appointment scheduled. Dr. Pickett feels your time is as valuable as hers and is dedicated to staying on schedule. She manages her time, so you do not have to worry about yours. Your scheduled appointment has been reserved exclusively for you. Please help us by arriving promptly for your appointment. We request a 48 business-hour notice should you need to change your reserved time. We are committed to your care and hope you share our enthusiasm.

Insurance & Financial Considerations
We recognize the need for complete understanding between the patient and our office regarding financial arrangements for dental care. Payment arrangements are handled on an individual basis for extensive treatment plans when discussed in advance. If you live in The Woodlands and need a Dentist, we welcome you to contact our office to discuss your financial concerns and explore payment options that may be available to you.

Insurance Forms & Coverage
We accept all PPO insurance plans, but we are considered “out of network.” We will file claims for the patients to utilize their benefits. If you have insurance, please bring a completed form to your first visit. We will be happy to assist you so that you may receive the maximum benefits available to you. Many of our patients have various insurance plans and our patients with insurance utilize their benefits through our office. We work with all insurance providers that work with “out of network” providers. Our team has the experience to make sure you receive your maximum benefit allowed.

We ask that you read your policy to be fully aware of its benefits and limitations, realizing that insurance plans do not always completely cover dental fees. We remind you that it is your responsibility to pay all deductibles, co-insurance, or any other balance not covered by your insurance company. The financial arrangements are made with you and not your insurance company.

Payment Options
We accept a variety of payment options including cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover Card. If you do not have insurance and need to set up a payment plan, please notify us in advance before your appointment so we can make the necessary arrangements.
